Sports cards first. Akron has deep basketball roots, and we see a lot of basketball from the 1980s through today, including rookies and graded cards. Baseball, football and hockey too, from vintage sets handed down through families to modern parallels and autographs. Raw cards and PSA, BGS, SGC and CGC slabs are all welcome.

How it works from Akron

Start with a text to (216) 260-3282. Send photos of what you have, with close-ups of anything you think is strong. Danny replies with an honest read and, where possible, an offer or a range. Because Akron is a longer drive, he tries to give you a clear idea before you commit to the trip. If you come in, hours are Sunday through Thursday, 11:30 AM to 7 PM, by appointment only. He goes through the cards with you and pays you on the spot.

From downtown Akron or the north side, take Route 8 north through Cuyahoga Falls and Stow to I-271 north, then exit at Chagrin Boulevard, go west, and turn north on Green Road. From the west side or Fairlawn, I-77 north to I-480 east to I-271 north works as well. Plan on roughly 35 to 45 minutes depending on where you start and the time of day.

For a large collection, an estate or anything you would rather not move, Danny comes to you. He travels across Northeast Ohio, Akron and Summit County included. Say so in your text and he will set up a time at your place.

No walk-in crowd, no counter, no waiting. You sit with Danny Grand, see each card evaluated and hear why. By appointment means the time is yours and the collection gets full attention. And if the drive is the problem, we come to Akron.

Before you come

• Bring everything. Commons, doubles, binders, loose boxes and sealed product. Do not leave anything home because it seems minor.
• Do not clean, erase, flatten or trim cards. Condition is judged as found and alterations lower value.
• Keep graded cards in their slabs and bring any grading paperwork.
• Lists or old receipts help, especially for an inherited collection.
• Bring a photo ID.
